The title above, that’s supposed to be a new sub-category here. ;) It’s supposed to share our commentaries and reviews on consumer products that we’ve tried and tested, especially those that we buy for Nico. But crazy thoughts playing in my mind led me to decide that it should be housed in a new home. Thus, the birth of my new Blog–The Meticulous Mommy.
Every once in a while, the Blog will solicit among Mommy Bloggers of their latest product finds, consumer product reviews or simply just about anything that has to do with the Mother’s buying adventures and misadventures. We wouldn’t want to be fooled by false marketing gimmicks and caught unaware of the consequences we’re about to face after pouring hard-earned money into a product or service, don’t we?
By sharing each others’ rich purchasing experiences, we Moms empower one another to be wiser, more clever and a more meticulous consumer.
I’ve already posted the first round of topic for sharing in the new Blog. Should you be interested in joining, hop over this link for the mechanics. Hope to see you there.

One of those not-in-the-mood to pose for the camera of the Father and Son. Taken during an afternoon Sunday stroll at Bonifacio High Street yesterday (we still managed to drop by after checking kitchen faucets at MC Home Depot, also at Bonifacio Global City), Father and Son just posed whatever crazy facial expressions they thought of.
The two boys’ current most fave pose nowadays is the pa-pogi pose, which dominated most of the photos I took yesterday. They thought I’d stop taking pictures by giving me their grins and craziest looks in front of the cam? Nope. Not at all. I didn’t mind at all they aren’t in their happiest moods, so long as I captured memories, pretty fine with me.

Mitch tagged me here to share something about the house chores I hate and the reasons why I hate them.
I am proud to say that my parents trained me and my siblings early on to take responsibility of sharing housechores at home. I remember being kinda stubborn and somewhat lazy when my Mom assigned certain chores to me like washing the dishes alternately with my Sister and sweeping the floor in our forestly-like backyard then in the province every morning.
Good thing my Mom, being the most patient person that she was, never gave up and persisted still in training us, no matter how hesitant we her kids were. Soon enough, my Mom and Dad succeeded in instilling the lessons of responsibilities to us. It gave us all the sense of team work and pride in the work we’ve accomplished that followed us all throughout our lives. Like, it became beneficial in more ways and worked for our advantage, especially now that we all have our own families.
Two housechores though that I never get used to doing haunted me when Hubby and I got married. Continue Reading »

It’s a Saturday and as I log in to my Dashboard today, only then I realized it’s been a week since my last update here. Life has been so busy the past week. I was able to still go online though, but mostly just for plurking with friends. Plurking has been my source of relieving some stress, that much as I attempted to put words to thoughts I have in mind whenever I clicked on the Write Page, it led me to nothing but staring at a blank, and then logging out, and then leading me back again to see what’s latest on Plurk.
My bad, I know. But never can I put blame on Plurk. It would be unfair to have it as an excuse. Fact is, I have so many things to write but much as my already idle mind is somewhat willing, chores at home coupled with some really urgent work stuff tired my physical side at the end of day. Why?
Because we’re left with no kasambahays since Sunday last week (errr, make that Saturday night, to be more exact). Long story and Hubby and I tried as much as we could just to understand them better. You know, when you have kasambahays, you have to deal with them with great patience because you understand they needed a little more pushing “just because”. Great patience, as in even at my worsts days when am having some hormonal imbalances of some sort (you know, when your PMSing, the days when progesterone is less than the estrogen?), I still have to treat them with all calmness. But all things have its limits and when they go beyond boundaries and relations with them become too unhealthy already, they need to go.
The first one, we decided to let go the moment we noticed she had already abused her privilege to do some sideline work even at workdays. It was easy on our part to decide that she has to go since the household wasn’t that much affected as she does little work anyway. But the second one was a different story. She’s been with us for three years and let’s just say, she was “the trusted one”. But knowing we had confidence on her, she abused and went over her limit. We gave her so many chances to prove herself, but we got tooooo tired already so we finally let her go too, regardless how heavy it was for us. I would not want to give details what she did this time, but it was something that really made our blood boiling to points .Pasaway talaga, walang pinagka tandaan! Tsk. Tsk. Continue Reading »

Over at Plurk last night (haha! yes, we’re into this addiction right now), Cookie, Chats and lil’o me was talking about the declared holidays for the month of August and gosh, did we all felt giddy excited realizing that the last two consecutive weekends (August 16-18 and August 23-25) are long weekends! August 18 is Ninoy Aquino Day so it’s a holiday and August 25, the following Monday, is National Heroes Day, a special non-working holiday as well.
And what makes it more exciting for Cookie and Chats was that, it’s even a longer weekend on their end since they are both Quezon City residents! As it is known, August 19th is Quezon City Day, so a non-working holiday for them again! Woooohoooo!
This conversation on long weekends then eventually led us to swap stories on what our plans for the much-anticipated long weekends are. Cookie and her hezzies and Hubby will be going to Subic for the nth time.
Excited that she is, she’s done booking as early as now with a hotel in the Freeport zone. Chats, meanwhile is still thinking of her plans for the long weekends. But with more cheering and influencing from Subic-addicted Cookie, I won’t be surprise Chats will soon give in. Haha! Continue Reading »

The construction of the little play area project in the house is in full swing, so we opted not to go anywhere during the weekend. The progress was supposed to be around 70 percent complete, but heavy rains caused the little project to be a bit delayed.
So for the weekend that passed, we just stayed at home to supervise and make sure that the construction goes a little speedier. You know, labor costs are considerably eating up the conservative budget that we allocated for the project that no budget software can fix.

Yay, I can’t wait till the little project gets finished really really sooooon. And so is Nico, who, aside from consistently checking how the project is going, just contented himself tossing and playing with the stock of tokens we’re suppose to use and enjoy this recent weekend at Tom’s World. I have a little project for the home which is running for two weeks already. Hopefully, if our little budget will permit it, the project will be finished before the month ends. Nothing so grand about the project. Gosh, we certainly can’t afford a major renovation in the house at this belt-tightening times, even if there are mortgage lenders that can possibly be sourced with funds. It’s just our former bodega cum quasi-garage to be turned into a space for the Little Boy’s play area.
I’ll share photos when the project’s finished.
In the meantime, here’s leaving you a photo the Little Boy, who used to dream about being a delivery boy before. Now, he wants to be a construction worker. Haha!

I don’t usually post forwarded emails in this Blog. But this one which give tips on saving up on gas is worth posting, especially at these times when gas prices are skyrocketing high (way higher than having an acne treatment). Ugh.
Got this from Hubby who was forwarded with the email from a co-Rotarian.

Tips on saving fuel from BJ Jose
We all know that the price of petroleum products are increasing at an insane rate. With this so-called continued increase, prices of every commodity we use everyday as well as food increases.
For us who own a car, motorcycle and even a generator, a little help will be very significant. So I want to share to you this tips that my friend in a forum posted.

I want to share this, it was posted on Volkswagen Club of the Philippines Forum that I am active too. Hope this helps everyone.
I don’t know what you guys are paying for petrol… But here in Durban , we are also paying higher, up to Php47.35 per litre.
But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money’s worth for every litre.
Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban , we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.
One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres. Continue Reading »
