How do you define a sweet person?
Dictionary.com defines a sweet person as someone with a pleasing disposition, is lovable, is agreeable, is delightful, amiable, kind or gracious. Or a person who is dear, beloved, precious, easily managed, done or effected without effort.
So many definitions, yet those words can’t seem to fit my definition of a sweet person.
All I know is those traits of sweetness, combined with lots of thoughtfulness, equals my sweet and thoughtful Mommy Blogger friend Rachel.
That’s why when she was nominated as one of the finalists in the Philippine Blog Awards 2 for the Bloggers’ Choice Award category, I didn’t hesitate one bit and came up with this post as an equivalent of a vote for her. Mommy Rachel is indeed the sweetest and the most thoughtful Blogger I’ve ever known in the big wide world of Blogsphere. I’m saying this not because she’s my friend, but because she really is uber sweet and thoughtful. Read her comments and replies to each and every post of the blogs she visits, and I bet you’ll agree that she truly deserves the award.
Feng on Sep 13th 2008 Nico's Milestones
Late afternoon yesterday, I attended the first Parent-Teacher Conference in Nico’s school. In the PTC, behavioral and cognitive/academic functioning reports over the three-month schooling period were discussed. The reports highlighted the developmental milestones of a child which parents can use as a tool to be aware and appreciate the dramatic changes that are occurring in a child.
Soon as the reports were handed to me and I began reading them, I can’t help but say words of praises as to how the reports were done. Very comprehensive and very detailed, I thought I was reading a progressive report by a Developmental Pediatrician, Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist, to think that it was a regular school.
The 12-page set of reports emphasizes a recording of Nico’s physical and motor development, speech and language development, sensory and cognitive development, social and emotional development. And the best part which I loved—the recommendations on ways to encourage Nico’s development in all aspects.

Feng on Sep 13th 2008 Me and My Friends, Me and the Blog Thing
It’s been like forever since my last update here. So many stories to tell, so little time to organize thoughts and put them in writing. Been kinda busy
. Kinda, as in, busy-busyhan lang kunwari but the truth is I’m just darn too lazy these days and preferred bumming around Plurkville most of the time.
Hope I can get over this laziness before memory overload in my head sets in.
In the meantime, here’s to leave you with a little game—Spot The Mommies behind the Filipino Mom Blog in the caricature below. Oh yes, the Filipino Mom Blog. If you haven’t visited yet, please do.
It’s one comfy Mommy hangout place where it feels like sipping over a cup of coffee with Mommy friends while talking just about anything about kids, families, individual endeavors, and even the littlest of secrets. Because motherhood is a journey best traveled with friends.
Can you guess whose who in the caricature?

Feng on Sep 7th 2008 Life as a Homemaker
The title above, that’s supposed to be a new sub-category here. ;) It’s supposed to share our commentaries and reviews on consumer products that we’ve tried and tested, especially those that we buy for Nico. But crazy thoughts playing in my mind led me to decide that it should be housed in a new home. Thus, the birth of my new Blog–The Meticulous Mommy.
Every once in a while, the Blog will solicit among Mommy Bloggers of their latest product finds, consumer product reviews or simply just about anything that has to do with the Mother’s buying adventures and misadventures. We wouldn’t want to be fooled by false marketing gimmicks and caught unaware of the consequences we’re about to face after pouring hard-earned money into a product or service, don’t we?
By sharing each others’ rich purchasing experiences, we Moms empower one another to be wiser, more clever and a more meticulous consumer.
I’ve already posted the first round of topic for sharing in the new Blog. Should you be interested in joining, hop over this link for the mechanics. Hope to see you there.
Feng on Sep 6th 2008 Being a Better Half
It was the Hubby’s 30 something birthday yesterday. We didn’t have anything planned since it was a Friday, a work day. I was almost about to cook dinner when I received a text message from him that we’ll just dine out to have a little celebration. And so at 7PM, he arrived home to pick us up and off we headed to our usual dining haven—Eastwood City, which is just minutes away from where we live.
We didn’t get too far in looking for a place to eat. Without hesitations, we settled at Itallianis, which is just buildings away from the entrance. And lucky us because their P395 Italian Buffet promo was still on. And the best part of it, we just paid for two since Nico was not counted as one head. Needless to say, we’ve had a great threesome celebration to our hearts and stomachs content.

Feng on Sep 4th 2008 Just About Me
Most people I bumped into these days often comment I lost some weight. “Nagpapapayat ka ba?” (Are you on a diet?) this is the common question I often get. I haven’t really weighed myself as of the moment but I noticed my jeans to be a bit maluwag already on the waist, so maybe this was an indication that I really lost weight. And to answer the question straight if I am dieting: well, not really. It’s just a natural thing that “miraculously” happened to me. Haha!
I’m taking in some progesterone for the last two months since I wanted to address the hormonal imbalance I have (remember the PCOS?) but I don’t know if that’s the main reason for my shedding in some unwanted pounds. I noticed though that since I took the medicines, I really lost an appetite to eating, especially during major meals. From a cup of rice (and oftentimes, two cups even especially when I love the food in the table), am now down to just half a cup of rice every meal. And sometimes too, I can afford to skip major meals, yet I don’t get really hungry. Which led me to thinking: Is it healthy to loose weight this way?
I mean, I don’t regret the fact that I shed off some pounds (as a matter of fact, I soooo love this development, promise!) . But my worry is that the lost of appetite to eating and skipping major meals might not be healthy after all. And with the way I feel towards eating nowadays, this lost of appetite might get me sick. We used to just joke about putting up a Mommy hangout of our own. You know, a comfy place where it feels like sipping on a cup of coffee with Mommy friends while talking just about anything under the sun, say: our kids, our families, our individual endeavors, and even our littlest of secrets.
Well, it looked like there’s no room for joking anymore.
We went a little step further about the idea of a cozy Mommy hangout. And just today, we had the new hangout all ready and warmed up. Finally!
So in case you missed me here (haha, as if meron nakaka miss), it’s most likely that I am there—in the Mommy hangout, possibly having a cup of coffee or tea, and chitchatting over sooooo many Mommy chikas with Mommy friends. And oh, it’s not exclusive just to us. Every Filipino Mom out there, wherever part of the world you may be, you are most welcome to chitchat with us too at The Filipino Mom Blog. Because motherhood is a journey best traveled with friends.
See you there!
