MINI STORY BOOKS FOR A BUDDING READER
Instilling the love for reading is probably one of the greatest gifts we parents can ever give our kids. When we train them to read at such a young age, they will use reading as a way to make adjustment and for gaining clearer insights into the world around them.

This week in Nico’s school, they are celebrating the Reading and Literacy Week. Part of the week-long activities is a book fair where several publishers of children’s books are participating, including my most-fave publishers of all—Scholastic.
Friday last week that I learned about the fair, I was so excited because the books I’ve been really meaning to buy Nico (probably via authorize.net), are mostly on sale at the fair! Imagine, shopping for books from as cheap as P20 up to P200 as the most expensive? That’s great steal!
So come Wednesday afternoon, during the snack break of Nico, we trooped the little fair and brought home several mini story books of interest, most of which Nico personally choose.

@P50 each

P70 (hardbound)

@P50 each, too

P40
The books we took home are mostly mini story books, except for the last one which is an activity book. What’s good about those mini story books was that they contain simple word and short sentences, which are just right for budding readers like Nico whose into sight reading and appreciating CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words. The activity book, which involves cutting and pasting different shapes in the pages, is also good since it engages hand and eye coordination, enhancing fine motor skills.

hi Analyse. eh alam mo naman tayo, basta sale, malakas ang pang-amoy.
one mamarazzi moment na naman yan.
hooray for Louna! I’m sure she’ll do fine in school. at syempre, your being preggy won’t stop you from being overly excited sa pagpasok ni Louna sa school.
Wow, andaming binili!
Reading is an enjoyable activity, not just to practice decoding skills but to retell stories in pictures. It is a great way to develop vocabulary and sentence patterns.
Teka parang goal ko na ito sa mga students ko ah
Starting school seems a good book, reproduce mo muna so that you have several copies for Nico to use

T.Julie, can’t help but buy kasi nga super steal ang mga books.
I agree, it’s indeed a great way to develop his communication skills. am glad he can now comprehend a little what he’s reading and ask me in case he wants the story elaborated.
hahaha, yan pati yung aims ng progress report, napunta na dito.
the Starting School is a very good activity book. ay nakow, bago ko pa man ma photocopy, ayun gupit gupit na ang mga pages at naka paste na lahat.
Great value for quality books. Glad you had the opportunity to buy several of them. I hope Nico will enjoy each one.

Hi Rach! those are steals, really. ang gaganda ng mga ministory books nila. sayang nga, hindi natuloy ang Diwa Publishing. dami ko rin gustong bilhin books dun in Filipino language.
