WHILE WAITING FOR THE LITTLE PROJECT TO BE FINISHED…

The construction of the little play area project in the house is in full swing, so we opted not to go anywhere during the weekend. The progress was supposed to be around 70 percent complete, but heavy rains caused the little project to be a bit delayed.  :( So for the weekend that passed, we just stayed at home to supervise and make sure that the construction goes a little speedier. You know, labor costs are considerably eating up the conservative budget that we allocated for the project that no budget software can fix.

Yay, I can’t wait till the little project gets finished really really sooooon. And so is Nico, who, aside from consistently checking how the project is going, just contented himself tossing and playing with the stock of tokens we’re suppose to use and enjoy this recent weekend at Tom’s World. MARITAL SCALE TEST

Was about to do Teacher Julie’s Weekly Question #8 today when a post of hers about the Marital Scale Test caught my attention. Curious what it’s all about, I snagged it and took the test myself. I was laughing so hard reading on and answering the questions. They were simply hilarious. It’s the new milenyo really and gender issues have really come a long way. Anyway, this was the result for me:

61

As a 1930s wife, I am
Superior

Take the test!

Haha! I can hardly believe my eyes when I saw the result: Superior! I thought I’d fail the test and get demerits for so many reasons. :) Among them are three unforgettable answers I ticked: being a quite lousy housekeeper (heehee, vacuum cleaners and floor mops aren’t just my kind of companions to keep the home tidy and clean); I don’t allow the Hubby to sleep so late on Sundays and holidays (well, he needs to get up soon as I am up, so he can share doing the long line-up of chores at home as well); and, wears pajamas while cooking (well, I don’t see anything wrong with that but the scale rates it as demerit because wives, according to the scale, are supposed to keep self dainty, perfumed, and feminine all the time).

Now, that sounds self-serving! I guess, it could have been more accurate if the Hubby was the one who answered it. That way, it’s not biased. I’m sure he’ll be laughing his heart out too, ticking and clicking on the answers.

Curious about the test? You can take the test yourself here. Goodluck! ;)

THOUGHTS ON HAVING CLOSE IN AGE KIDS

I’ve always thought that a 3-4 years gap between the first-born and the second is quite ideal for child spacing. Hubby and I actually decided and planned to have it that way since we reasoned we wanted to enjoy Nico for quite sometime until we feel we are ready for the second.

But you know, it’s kinda weird because just lately, we realized that if we can only turn back time, we would have opted a close in age gap (around 18-24 months?) between Nico and the second baby.

At four years old now, we can feel the cons of raising an only child in Nico. Boredom, the feeling of loneliness with no “real” and “regular” playmates to have fun with plus a number of more reasons—we can’t help but think what joy it was if Nico had a younger sibling. They would have enjoyed each other more and have more in common. They would have been best of friends and as well, as great playmates.

Last weekend was a vivid picturing of this realization. My best friend for life was in town once more for a short business trip and together with her three and a half year old daughter Sam, they stayed in our home until yesterday. Nico had the grandest time playing with Sam for a couple of days and seeing our Little Boy’s eyes all glowing in happiness having a playmate all giggling and excited the moment he wakes up in the morning until he retires at night, surely, it was true happiness no amount of money or materials things or the best toys in this world can buy. BUGS AND ERRORS IN THE COMMENT PLUGINS FIXED

There, I’m done fixing the errors in the comment plugins I downloaded hoarded months ago. It’s a pain going through the WP forums and finding out what seems to be wrong and how to address them. Apparently, the page template needs a little tweaking. You know, some CSS stuff so alien to me. But am glad it’s fixed. After this, super promise, I’ll treat myself for some much-needed unwinding. Yikes, if only I’m rich, I would have probably plunge on a Las Vegas travel. But the poor little ‘ol me knows, I can’t. So maybe, I’ll just content myself even just for a cup of frap at a Coffee shop. ;)

Now I can comment to your aging, old and already rusting comments. Thank you for all the patience. Gosh, since the comment plugins went pffff, I felt like I was someone deaf and mute, not being able to reply to your comments. Sorry for that.

BTW, in case your interested in downloading (especially to those with new and spanking blogs: Cookie and Weng — I know how it feels excitedly exploring and decorating your new homes with awesome WP plugins), am sharing the links here on where to download them. Just heads me up, should you encounter problems, I might be of help. ;) Naks, yabang ko daw oh! Continue Reading »

A LITTLE PLAY AREA PROJECT FOR MY LITTLE BOY

I have a little project for the home which is running for two weeks already.  Hopefully, if our little budget will permit it, the project will be finished before the month ends.  Nothing so grand about the project.  Gosh, we certainly can’t afford a major renovation in the house at this belt-tightening times, even if there are mortgage lenders that can possibly be sourced with funds. It’s just our former bodega cum quasi-garage to be turned into a space for the Little Boy’s play area. ;) I’ll share photos when the project’s finished.

In the meantime, here’s leaving you a photo the Little Boy, who used to dream about being a delivery boy before.  Now, he wants to be a construction worker. Haha!

AT THESE TIMES WHEN OIL PRICES ARE SKYROCKETING HIGH: TIPS ON SAVING FUEL

I don’t usually post forwarded emails in this Blog.  But this one which give tips on saving up on gas is worth posting, especially at these times when gas prices are skyrocketing high (way higher than having an acne treatment).  Ugh.

Got this from Hubby who was forwarded with the email from a co-Rotarian. :)

Tips on saving fuel from BJ Jose
We all know that the price of petroleum products are increasing at an insane rate. With this so-called continued increase, prices of every commodity we use everyday as well as food increases.

For us who own a car, motorcycle and even a generator, a little help will be very significant. So I want to share to you this tips that my friend in a forum posted.

please read…

I want to share this, it was posted on Volkswagen Club of the Philippines Forum that I am active too. Hope this helps everyone.

I don’t know what you guys are paying for petrol… But here in Durban , we are also paying higher, up to Php47.35 per litre.

But my line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money’s worth for every litre.

Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline, where I work in Durban , we deliver about 4 million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.

One day is diesel; the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and unleaded. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres. Continue Reading »

INTERNET USES AND ORIENTING THE JUST-BUDDING TECH SAVVY HUBBY

Earnings from my blogging gigs are slowly growing. It’s still a small amount but am smiling ear-to-ear seeing the $ figure increases each time there are opportunities that come my way. :)

I proudly showed the growing figure to Hubby when I logged in to my Paypal account this morning and well, he was pretty amazed to know that at least I get something monetary out of being online. Haha! :) The Hubby’s orientation of my attachment to Blogging has been a work in progress, really. He slowly learns what I’m up to as far as being online is concerned and sometimes he peaks in reading my Blog. But generally, he still doesn’t have enough thought on how far I’ve gone.

Anyway, being the overly-curious-still-learning-the-ropes-of-the-Internet person that he is, Hubby asked me how the money from the Blogging earnings would be used. Two convenient ways, I said. First, I can transfer the funds in my bank and credit card accounts and have them withdrawn after a few days (five banking days, I think)—the reason why I opened a Unionbank EON Card two weeks ago and due to be issued this coming Friday. And second, (which is by far, I’ve been itching to do) use the Paypal money in shopping online! Haha! :) Continue Reading »
