NOW EXCLUDED FROM THE PAYROLL

See that photo above? That’s a memo I received last week from our Personnel Division notifying me that I’ll be excluded from the organization’s general payroll effective August 2008. The balance of my accumulated vacation and sick leaves is down to 11 days as of June 2008 and it’s an Office rule that only officials and employees with 15 days or more of accumulated vacation and sick leave credits are included in the general payroll.
Being out of the payroll means I can’t anymore draw my salary straight from my payroll ATM card, until such time I earn the required leave credits, which is far from happening because I don’t go the Office regularly anymore. Since that compromise agreement with the Boss last year, I usually work from home. I only go to the Office if need arises. And that happens very seldom. Boss earlier proposed (and that was last year pa!) that I request for the crediting of the days I work from home to be considered as my attendance, yet up to now, I haven’t done it as am still hesitant with the idea. You know, anticipating that some people will just be raising their eyebrows hardly. At ayoko naman may masabi pa sila. Period!
Going back to the payroll thing, now, I painstakingly have to file a voucher at the end of each month, and have it computed and processed by our Finance Division which takes about a week. Perfect timing. Just when I really needed to get hold of my hard-earned money in time to pay some bills due every third week of the month. Sigh. Now I began to appreciate what those payday loans are for. You know, that one that provides to those running low on money even before payday?
Oh well, this is life for a semi-working Mom or work-at-home-Mom or stay-at-home-Mom or whatever that’s called. Family comes first before everything else!

hi Mitch!

thanks for tag sis, pupuntahan ko in a bit.
‘baka may masabi pa sila’ — yan hirap sa pinas, dami kasing taong madakdak hindi nila isipin na basta may quality performance na dumarating e i accept na lang nila. dito dami ng work at home moms pero wala akong naririnig na ‘baka may masabi pa sila’ kasi they demand payment according to their performance. and i salute you for saying, family comes first.
hi Raq! ay, sinabi mo pa. nung on the verge of resigning ako last year, sila itong sobra maka encourage na wag mag resign, sayang daw naman yung item ko. tapos, nung nag stay on ako, parang biglang nagka amnesia sa compromise agreement.
oh well, siguro, ganyan lang talaga. and the good news is, it never dampened my spirit ever. am happy being able to be in both worlds.
Antagal pa pala makuha, 1 week? Buti na lang me pang- extra
Grabe talaga sa atin ano, crab mentality. Kaya di umaasenso ang iba.
