INTERNET USES AND ORIENTING THE JUST-BUDDING TECH SAVVY HUBBY

Earnings from my blogging gigs are slowly growing. It’s still a small amount but am smiling ear-to-ear seeing the $ figure increases each time there are opportunities that come my way. :)

I proudly showed the growing figure to Hubby when I logged in to my Paypal account this morning and well, he was pretty amazed to know that at least I get something monetary out of being online. Haha! :) The Hubby’s orientation of my attachment to Blogging has been a work in progress, really. He slowly learns what I’m up to as far as being online is concerned and sometimes he peaks in reading my Blog. But generally, he still doesn’t have enough thought on how far I’ve gone.

Anyway, being the overly-curious-still-learning-the-ropes-of-the-Internet person that he is, Hubby asked me how the money from the Blogging earnings would be used. Two convenient ways, I said. First, I can transfer the funds in my bank and credit card accounts and have them withdrawn after a few days (five banking days, I think)—the reason why I opened a Unionbank EON Card two weeks ago and due to be issued this coming Friday. And second, (which is by far, I’ve been itching to do) use the Paypal money in shopping online! Haha! :)

Again, the thing about shopping online sounded kinda new to the just-budding Internet savvy Hubby, so I showed him sample of websites where Paypal money can be used. Say for example, I wanted to shop our Little Boy with new stuff. I can easily visit ShopWiki.com, type babies and toddlers in the Search box provided, and voila—a wide array of links to merchants of children’s stuff appears on the screen!

Now, there are so many merchant stores that can be visited directly but why ShopWiki.com? Simply because ShopWiki is a shopping search engine designed to help consumers find specific products (from collectibles and memorabillia to home and garden or simply just about so many products, just look at their complete directory to find out what the site has to offer) on the Internet with ease. It is the only shopping search engine that combines advanced Web-crawling technology with consumer-written wiki. Traditional shopping sites will only show you stores that have paid for placement, but ShopWiki will give a shopper everything regardless they earn anything. And for an online shopper (like busy Moms who wants to save both time and money), this means they can find anything and everything for sale on the web at ShopWiki.com.

After all the explanations, well, the Hubby was kinda taking note of each and every term I was telling him, and perhaps in time, he’ll get the hang of it. It’s worth the effort orienting him on the great power of the Internet and how to get the best out of it. At least now he has a broader idea why I’m sooooo hooked with it. ;)

I remember how my husband resented my internet work! But when I started earning, he was quite pleased. Now he earns a little from his blog around $90. Pwede na! I remember when I first started, I was so happy to earn my first $100..then the next month it just grew and so on and so forth. It’s been 2 years and it helped pay for our second home.

    Congrats!

thanks for the kind words. you know, Blogging is a great way to release our tension and pressure from just about anything—may it be mommy/wifey concerns, work stuff. the monetary benefits comes in second, which I veered myself just two months ago.

sure we can exchange notes. just email me or you can comment here. :)

Hi Feng! Congrats. Alam mo ba ganyan din si Morning nun. He resents my computer time. But when all my blog earnings were used to start his new foodcart biz, he changed. Ngayon, may matching timpla ng kape at masahe pag nagb-blog ako. nyahahaha! Kidding but something to that effect.
