OF NFA RICE AND SAVING UP

See those sacks of NFA rice above? Two of those sacks are mine while the others are my officemates’. We purchased sacks of rice straight from the National Food Authority South District Office in Taguig just last Friday. We took advantage of the government employees’ privilege to buy a maximum of 25-kilo worth of NFA rice per month. ;)

Now why two sacks for me? Because an officemate begged off to take home his sack of rice. Dressed in a formal business suit and all accessorized in Johnston and Murphy get-up when he went to work today, he’s afraid he can’t bring the 25-kilo sack of rice home because he’ll be commuting later . Haha! Wa-poise nga naman. He was too lazy to bring his car to work thinking that it’s more practical to commute because gasoline prices are way too steep and soaring high.

As for me, that turned out to be favorable. Heehee. Hubby has a delivery in the Makati area today, and he’ll fetch me later anyway, so taking the two sacks of rice home serves double purpose. ;) Haha! That’s hapit sa pagtitipid for us!

In this day in age where almost everything you need to live has gone up (if there’s one thing that haven’t gone up yet, I think it would be safe to say, it’s the poor Juan’s salary), it’s a big relief (even for my little family who consumes no more than five kilos of rice every week) to be able to avail of the NFA rice which costs P625 per 25-kilo sack. It maybe a small amount of savings, but still is SAVINGS!
