We’ve prepared and dressed up 15 minutes early today before the school bus arrives. And so for the lack of anything to do, my Little Boy posed for the camera and did his some of his pa cute and pa pogi antics. Great way to keep him occupied, though at the latter part, he somewhat became a little impatient and asked of the bus’ whereabouts.

Mommy, ayos ba shades ko? Continue Reading »
Feng on Jul 30th 2008 My so-called Work Life

See that photo above? That’s a memo I received last week from our Personnel Division notifying me that I’ll be excluded from the organization’s general payroll effective August 2008. The balance of my accumulated vacation and sick leaves is down to 11 days as of June 2008 and it’s an Office rule that only officials and employees with 15 days or more of accumulated vacation and sick leave credits are included in the general payroll.
Being out of the payroll means I can’t anymore draw my salary straight from my payroll ATM card, until such time I earn the required leave credits, which is far from happening because I don’t go the Office regularly anymore. Since that compromise agreement with the Boss last year, I usually work from home. I only go to the Office if need arises. And that happens very seldom. Boss earlier proposed (and that was last year pa!) that I request for the crediting of the days I work from home to be considered as my attendance, yet up to now, I haven’t done it as am still hesitant with the idea. You know, anticipating that some people will just be raising their eyebrows hardly. At ayoko naman may masabi pa sila. Period! Continue Reading »

Weng, my one hot and sexy Momma friend (yes Weng, from now on, this description of yours will stick with me after seeing your preggy photos, so daring!)
from Austin tagged me here to post a photo of me during my pregnancy days and yay, was I hesitant.
First off, I think I don’t have anything decent to share. And second, I have that one and only photo, but it’s kinda blurry. No thanks to my quite high-risk pregnancy back then (just imagine, the Hubby turned into an instant nurse at that time, giving the meds and supplements to me intravenously for so many months, ugh!) documenting everything textually and pictorially weren’t done accordingly. Good thing, we accidentally passed by a Kodak Photo Center one time Hubby and I were at a Mall just for a quick run for some errands. Well, Hubby had his passport size IDs taken at the photo studio and the photographer insisted to take a photo of us together and that was the story of my one and only preggy photo: Continue Reading »

I’ve already mentioned in a recent post that going out with my Mommy friends is one of my simplest pleasures in life. Well, I’ve had one again last Friday night. In the company of Cookie, Cess, Chats, Lynn, Teacher Julie, and Wenchie. And true enough, it was once again one of those greatest times.

After squeezing in a little shopping on the side (shopaholic tandem Cookie and Chats got themselves new pairs of ballet shoes),
we spent the time chitchatting (of course, swapping stories about our kids topped the list!) and talking just about anything that our talkative and bratatatatat Mommy tongues led us to. On top of that, we’re also eating, taking photos of the great food at Burgoo (our second time there, BTW) and each other. Heehee, that’s just how multitasking-inclined Moms are. You know. Feng on Jul 25th 2008 Me and the Blog Thing
It isn’t Valentine yet, and neither it’s my Birthday but Mitch, one of my closest and sweetest Mommy friends ever in the worlds of Blogsphere and Plurk (haha! yes, I have to include Plurk of course!) recently passed on me a bunch of lovely and colorful tulips with a special dedication below it.

It’s true I have never seen you
and we have never met,
Never shaken Hands or
even truly hugged and yet!
I know for sure you care for
me by the kindness that you give.
And our keyboards keep us
together doesn’t matter where we live.
So I give you this gift to
put a smile on your face
and to let you know in my
heart you have a special place.
Thanks a bunch Sis! You are definitely the sweetest! Congrats to the birth of the new and spanking Blog — When SAHM-one Speaks, solely dedicated to your SAHM adventures! Of course, it will definitely not talk about bodybuilding supplements,
so I shall be looking forward to your tales of joys and misadventures being in the SAHM world there!
And to keep the sweetness and thoughtfulness going, am passing these bunch of tulips to, who else, but to you my ever sweetest Mommy Blog friends–Cookie, Cess, Chats, Lynn, Rach, Teacher Julie, and Wenchie. Yes, we’ve seen one another many times already through EBs, but I insist to give them to all of you because you truly deserve these lovely flowers Mommies!

This is my take on Teacher Julie’s Weekly Question No. 9: What are the 5 simple pleasures that will give you, well, simple pleasures?
When Mommying duties seems too mundane and taxing, there’s no need to throw in the towel. When Mommy life seems too much full and you can’t handle one more game of patty cake, it’s time for a mommy break.
Mommy breaks are great because they allow you to get away and relax. They allow Mom time to re-coop and re-evaluate her, well, quite “challenging role”. And oftentimes, they allow just enough breathing room to remind Mom that she isn’t just a Mom alone but a distinct individual and valuable part, not just of the family, but of the community as well.
At Mommy breaks, I simply enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Well, not as sosyal as joining wine of the month clubs but something rather similar or something to that effect like: Continue Reading »

Meet fishboy. :) The little gold fish that we accidentally bought at a nearby petshop earlier today. It was Nico’s assignment in school to bring at least five objects that start with the letter F today and since the instruction clearly stressed that the objects has to be “the real ones”, we thought of buying real fish. A gold fish, that is.
Nico’s Teacher was kinda surprised the moment she saw the Little Boy carrying the fish in a plastic bag (alongside with flower, fan, flashlight and feather) when we arrived in school today, but hey, she’s all smiles because at least we get to bring “a real one”.
Normally, the Teachers in school would keep the objects the kids brought in an Alphabox. But this time, since this “real one” that Nico bought can’t be stored in the box, the Teacher returned the fish to us after the class.

Feng on Jul 21st 2008 Life as a Homemaker
The construction of the little play area project in the house is in full swing, so we opted not to go anywhere during the weekend. The progress was supposed to be around 70 percent complete, but heavy rains caused the little project to be a bit delayed.
So for the weekend that passed, we just stayed at home to supervise and make sure that the construction goes a little speedier. You know, labor costs are considerably eating up the conservative budget that we allocated for the project that no budget software can fix.

Yay, I can’t wait till the little project gets finished really really sooooon. And so is Nico, who, aside from consistently checking how the project is going, just contented himself tossing and playing with the stock of tokens we’re suppose to use and enjoy this recent weekend at Tom’s World.
