From Dawn Till Dusk

Last night, I am doing a quick filing of the latest bills and papers we accumulated lately when suddenly I saw some discount coupons attached to Nico’s enrollment documents related to his swimming lessons with BLSS. The coupons consisted of discounts to Big & Small Company’s line of clothing like Spin and Havin’ A Baby. Spin is Big & Small’s line of cool and fun activewear for boys while Havin’ is a great shopping haven for fashionable wannabe expectant Moms.

The discovery of the neglected discount coupons came at the right timing for me because I’ve been really planning to shop the Little Boy his new clothes. Nico’s growing really really fast that the clothes I bought him a few months ago looked as if they shrunk when worn. Heehee.

Anyway, with the coupons, I am expecting to save as much as 10 percent each for my soon-to-be purchases. And since I am going to shop the Little Boy his two new short pants (that would cost around P500 each) plus five polo shirts (worth P350 each), savings I initially computed will be around P275! Not bad right? Considering that the amount I would expect to save, I can readily use it for another purchase. An additional pair of socks maybe?

Anyway, I showed Hubby the discount coupons and told him my planned purchases and you know what he said? “You’re the bestest cheapstake shopper ever I know. You can’t seem to get enough of those gift certificates we have huh, that even small discount coupons like that (referring to the Big & Small Co. coupons), you’ll patronize”. Haha! Looks like the Husband is already acquainted with my sort of “wise shopping tactics” now. Well, I can’t blame him. It’s not the first time I’ve raved about discounts and savings coupons.

Every now and then, whenever the Hubby sees me browsing the Net and he glimpses at what I’m up to in my laptop, I often showed him a catalog shopping bargains and promotions site I frequently visit—www.1-coupons.com. 1 Coupons is a popular online coupons web site where online coupons are listed to help shoppers save on virtually everything. Clothing, computers, books, jewelry, gifts, flowers, sporting goods, travel, furniture and internet services—name it, the site surely have them! As for me, I’ve been itching to try discount coupons from a certain babies’ and kids’ product merchant. The offer for free shipping which is around $49 is way too hard to turn down. With the cost of living increasing everyday, it’s important that every family learn to economize. In our household, it meant practicing the frugal way of living. It’s important to understand though that living frugally isn’t about being deprived and not living the good life. It’s about making a conscious effort to save money and getting started with taking advantage of discounted coupons for only the much-needed (and not the wants) purchases should justify them.
