LIVING IN A GC WORLD ESP. ON WEEKENDS
Yes, you read it right. We’re sorta, kinda living in a GC world these past few days–GC, as in gift certificates/ gift cheques, most especially on weekends. 
Thanks to my dear Hubby, who unexpectedly was handed with so many GCs by the company he is now doing consultancy. There were several exchange deals he successfully worked on, and since most of them aren’t convertible to cash, the company had GCs as payment instead.
I was pretty much surprised a few days ago when Hubby handed me the GCs. Pathetic, if you might want to call it. But from food restos, museums, theme parks, retail chain outlets, to boutiques–ahhh, name it, we might just have it. Told him candidly: “Hey, thanks but no thanks. But I need cash!” Heehee. Of course, partly of that remark, I honestly meant it because no matter how much arithmetic I did, the equivalent of these GCs is definitely way good enough to serve as tuition fee for my son’s schooling this year. Oh well, as Hubby had put it: “Let’s savor those GCs. Better have something, than nothing”.
And so we’ve been relying on those GCs for a couple of weeks now. The first round of booklets [read: booklets] of GCs we’re burning right now is that of Kenny Rogers. The most number of GCs we have are from Kenny’s, so it’s but logical to use it off first. And like today, after hearing the 3PM Mass and some Malling (I was looking for a newborn stroller for my niece), we ate at Kenny’s again and oh my, I have a little story to tell.
We’re all wearing our bestest smiles in those photos and looks like we’ve had a satisfying gastronomic dinner treat there ei? Well, not that much, not really.
We’ve only spent nowhere 25 percent of Kenny’s GCs and oh my, I have a feeling that with a few more trips to that restaurant, and I might have those chicken wings growing on my back. Heehee. Of course, there are so many meal offerings at Kenny’s other than roasted chicken and muffins, but even with a different meal set (say: burger and fries or baby back ribs), seating and dining in an atmosphere full of black, red and white stripes, I can’t help feel nothing but umay and suya. Haha!
Good thing, my attention was somehow diverted in pondering over whether to purchase something like a Zooper Boogie Pink newborn stroller and a Joovy Caboose Orange Twin Seat Standard newborn stroller for my niece, the thought of frequently eating out at Kenny’s dwindled down a bit.
And good thing again because as Hubby and Nico and I were talking while doing our groceries after dinner, they felt the same umay and suya that I did. And so even as the initial plan was to burn those Kenny’s GCs first before proceeding with using the next round of other food restos GCs, our revised plan now is to at least postpone trips to Kenny’s for a while and alternate using the other GCs instead. That’s better because at least, we get to miss the smell and taste of Kenny for quite sometime. Heehee.

natawa naman ako sa kuwento mo, specially the part about growing wings on your back. hahaha! sayang na rin ang gift certificates. huwag niyo na lang araw-arawin ang kenny. hee hee!

hay naku Weng, malapit na talaga akong tubuan ng pakpak dahil sa Kenny na yan. heehee. buti na lang at mukhang na-umay na din si Hubby and Nico, at least next weekend, sa iba naman kami kakain. pero GC pa rin ang gamit, haha!
I love GC’s!! Buti na lang my bro-in-law has been giving us a lot because of his negosyo too. May van rental siya so mga cliente nya nagbibigay lagi. Kami naman ang binibigyan nya kasi favorite pamangkins nya itong mga hezzies.
Naku, with the prices of everything going sky high, GC’s are a godsend. Uy, penge naman dyan o..hehehe

Wow, GCs enough to equal your son’s tuition fee huh! Andami nun… At least yung expenses nyo sa weekend eat-outs nawala na sa budget. That would be good enough for me.
