TWO BIRTHDAYS AND A DESPEDIDA

24 May 2008 — It’s was busy weekend on my side of the family. It was Mom’s 57th Birthday last Friday, the 23rd and my niece’s 6th Birthday on the 28th. We’re all set for an intimate celebration in my Mom’s for the two birthdays because the double celebration was something that we do yearly.

But what made yesterday’s family affair a wee bit sentimental and special was that, it became sort of a farewell party for my brother who’ll be leaving for Singapore a few days from now.

Brother is into the IT field and he will try his hands for a lucrative job offer there. The thought of him leaving is making Mom all nervous because for so many years now, this will be the first time my brother will be on his own feet. Mom was really paranoid and she was having second thoughts on letting my brother finally go that she was telling us very consistently that she’s afraid something untoward might happen to my brother there.

Well, as we’ve assured Mom, never to worry because Brother is big and old and mature enough to manage everything pretty well. And jokingly, I even said that Brother has a travel insurance anyway, so if something comes up or anything unexpected happens (say, he got lost in the airport, heehee), the travel insurance will always be there to the rescue.

But seriously, even though the big Ate in me can’t help but have worries, I’m cheering all the way for my brother because I know that even he doesn’t say so, he’s constantly thinking of getting a stable job finally since he has a growing family to raise. Sigh. Here I go again with my sentimyento de potpots. So before I get too mushy again, let me just share with you random photos taken from yesterday’s little family affair:

i love your mom’s dining room! at saka ang sarap ng food, your mom cooked all those? sama natin siya sa susunod na picnic hehehe!

my brother is also leaving manila - to baguio lang naman - for a job.

good luck sa mga bros natin, and i’m pretty sure they will soon adjust and find themselves having fun in their new place.

  thanks Cess. actually, yan ang part ng home nya na super favorite namin lahat. yung food, kami kami lang nagluto, except for the puto and bibingka, inorder na lang. haha, sige, bitbitin ko si Mommy sa susunod na picnic. hehe

Torture ka naman sister! Kainis! Sarap naman ng mga yan! Dyan na lang kaya ako bibisita sa bahay ni mommy pag magkikita tayo? LOL! Naki-mommy pa eh no? Hahaha!

Nagagandahan talaga ako sa bahay niyo! Ni Mommy pala…. Hehehe!

uy, ang sarap naman ng handa niyo! kung puwede ko lang matikman from my monitor. hahaha! good luck to your brother. you’ll just have to reassure your mom all the time that this is all for the better. my hubby’s brother and his family are also now based in singapore. theya re software test analysts. ok naman dun. medyo mahal nga lang diba? again, good luck and God bless to your brother!

  ang yummy nga ng Saturday namin Weng. daming food.
  my Mom is a wee bit paranoid than I am. so parang ngayong pa lang, takot na sya baka daw maligaw sa airport anak nya. haha! like your brother in law, my Brother is also in the IT field. hopefully, with God’s grace, everything will turn out favorable for him there.
