THE MAKINGS OF A DELIVERY BOY

Now that Nico’s graduation day is nearing, my Little Boy together with his classmates are practicing almost three times a week for their much-awaited day. One of the parts of the ceremony is for the preschoolers to introduce themselves, say how old they are, and what they want to be when they grow up. Two weeks ago, Teacher told me Nico recited he wanted to be a doctor, which I am not really surprised to hear. Well, we have been constantly telling him that we envisioned him to be a doctor someday–a Pediatric Cardiologist, that is. ;) And the reason, well, quite simple. That post here should tell it all. ;)

Anyway, yesterday, when I fetched Nico after his class, the Teacher approached me excitedly to mention about something hilarious that the Little Boy did mention during the graduation practice. “Naku Mommy, nakakatuwa ang anak nyo. Iba na naman ang gustong maging,” said Teacher Jovie. “Ay talaga po, ano daw po yun?” I replied with all excitement. “Naku eh, gusto daw po nyang maging Delivery Boy gaya ng Daddy nya,” she said. Hahaha, we were so laughing really good while talking. But well, I explained to Teacher that just as the first what do you want to be when you grow up, I am not surprised why these days, Nico wanted to be a Delivery Boy. He’s been exposed to seeing his Dad doing delivery stuff for the little growing business so frequently, that’s why. ;)

On a serious note though, I know it will still be years and years more before we get to cross that bridge of guiding him on a career path. And if not for too much thinking this fast forward, we wished he’d be a doctor, that is, if we were to choose. ;) But like most doting and guiding parents out there, we’re all for what our son would be happy at–wherever his passion is, as they say. I have to believe that that’s all that matters, right? And if time-tested and he’s really serious about the one hilarious dream that he wanted to be, I’m with him, walang halong biro. Pero naman, sana (cross fingers), Boss naman ng mga delivery boys! ;)

A little comic strip to remember me by of yesterday’s. Photos were taken last Saturday when Nico and I joined the Hubby in filing returns to a client, prior to our crazy unplanned trip to Ocean Park. You’ll be the judge if he’s indeed a Delivery Boy in the making. ;)

Hi Feng. Buti pa si Nico may graduation. Sa school kasi nila Yohan, Prep lang ang may graduation rites.

I enjoyed the comic strips. It’s great that Nico is enjoying helping his Dad in the business. Kakatuwa naman.

I hope you don’t mind, I will make my own comic strips on my blog one of these days. I was inspired by what you made.

hi Rach! of course, go, go check out comeeko. nakakaaliw to do hilarious comic strips. :)

oo nga eh, katuwa silang tignan mag-ama. kaya naman, I took advantage of the scene and took photos. :)

the graduation day really excites us. parang sarap ng feeling seeing him receiving a certificate on stage. di bale, in a year or two, you’ll get to experience it na din. who knows, with a kid as smart as Yohan, he’ll graduate with flying colors pa!

Hi Feng, katuwa naman…eh kung ganyan ka-cute mag deliver newspapers saken, di nako mag internet for news, he he. Btw, do you do business with PDI and Phil. Star? I did business with them before, pero sa Roxas City ang distribution. That’s a very good business. Walang talo parang food business.

hi Wenchie. hahaha, kanina lang, gusto na naman sumama sa Daddy nya sa delivery. :)

re: PDI and PhilStar: yung sa amin naman, delivery services lang. the stores where we deliver (711, Ministop, Natl Bookstore etc), sila ang nag-uusap re: sales with the publications.

this coming April 01 though, we’re venturing into delearship na din. dyan kami nakakuha malapit sa UP/Miriam/Ateneo area. so sa Roxas City pala ang sa inyo? I heard mas lucrative pag provincial ang venture. :)
