A BIGGER PICTURE OF LOVE

Caution: A mushy post this is! :)

How true it is that as you get older (and wiser), you’d view things on a different light. Rich experiences as one ages and go through life’s journeys perhaps must have contributed so much for that change in perspective.

It’ll be Valentines Day on Thursday and as expected, many couples out there are definitely going to “paint the town red”. Our girls here at home, Rizza and Ness, are no exception. In fact, as early as last week, they’ve requested for a few hours-off on Thursday as the two will be going out on dates with their BFs. :) Both are on the verge of enjoying their young teenage years and perhaps, and that explains why these girls really look forward to experiencing those flutter-licous feelings on V-day. You know, the usual fun rush of feeling of Valentine that comes with flowers, chocolates, mushy text messages and dates—which I believe quite is understandable.

Had I was still in their youthful years, I could have went on with the flow. The flow which looks at love in the more tangible form—one that’s sweet and colorful, one that’s huggable and will make you “kilig to the bones” with the pudgy Cupid with bow and arrow at hand. But that all change as I age (there, I admit it, I’m growing old!) when suddenly you wake up realizing that there’s a bigger picture of what love is—Love that is just around, love that is in many forms. Love that applies not only to those single people, but to love that is in our everyday life.

Of course, it’ll be a cliché to say that I’ve found its true meaning upon zealing the ever-after with Hubby or the love affair I’ve had since the day I conceive my Little Boy. But mushy (and corny too, go on, throw your ripen tomatoes on me!) as it may seem, that’s just the way the bigger picture of love to me is—Love that is patient, love that is kind, love that is unconditional, love that has no boundaries. And the following quote, I encountered somewhere, sometime as I search through the meaning of love, really hit home:

Most of us tend to overestimate the loving things we do for our loved ones, and underestimate the loving things they do for us.

And I have to believe, nobody would disagree with me, because I know, and I can see it in your twinkling eyes that that’s just the way you look at the four-letter almighty word too. :)

I have a feeling, I’ll be out on a date with the boys of my life before the V-day season ends, so let me take this chance to greet you all in advance: Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! :)

Advance Happy Hearts Day! The meaning of love broadens as we mature but that’s what’s wonderful about it. You can look at it from different perspectives. Have a wonderful date with your boys.
