BLOGGING TIPS FROM AMAZING BLOGGERS

I’ve been encountering posts about the Blogging Tips Meme that’s been circulating around Blogsphere for some time now. And though I’m not tagged to do the Meme, I find it interesting to read through the different perspectives on Blogging from a diverse chain of Bloggers and see what Blogging tips or advices could be useful for me.

Then the Meme reached me when Kelly tagged me here to share a blogging tip. And geez, looking at the long list of Blogging tips, I can’t help but scratch my head and ask myself: “Gee, most of the tips are already listed. What else can I share?” And taking note that the rule says: “try to make your tip general” makes it all more difficult (well, at least for me) to think of a quite sensible advice.

“To each, its own”, “Different strokes for different folks”, are two old proverbs that best describes how Bloggers differ in their objectives and intentions for Blogging. For some, the chance to express themselves is already a blogging reward while for others, blogging is a potential source of income as well. These varying reasons said, a general Blogging tip (which has not been enumerated yet on the chain of tips) isn’t that easy to craft.

But then I thought that maybe, the tip that I’d share should be a description or a distinguishing quality that I see based on Blogs I admire and the traits it bear that keeps me from coming back. So okay, here’s a revelation.

Blogs that I admire are basically well-written and as I do my regular visits to their posts, I just knew that they follow the rules in Effective Writing ala. William Strunk Jr—the very publisher of “The Elements of Style”. I’m quite confident too that they think first before they write, the very reason why their points are written clearly and that they stress the main idea so that readers are sure to get it. While sometimes I encounter them writing in suspense (well, that’s unavoidable), I admire them for they are so frank, meaning they start punching right off and comes to the point directly. I’m pretty sure too that they can impress their readers with quite complex high-brow words, but still they prefer using familiar words for they want their thousands of readers to understand them better. And in cases they use their vocabulary of treasures, they use them sparingly, and that’s what make me admire them even more. They write as if they talk, as if they are just in front of you, telling you a story they wanted to share. And most importantly, they know their cannons, not because they belong to the mainstream media, but simply because they know that the industry practice is to write to express and not to impress.

And these qualities exactly are Blogging tips I wish to share for the sake of tagging along with the Blogging Tips Meme. The qualities mentioned maybe difficult to follow (at least for a newbie Blogger like me), but these amazing Bloggers I admire, continue to be my inspiration to strive harder to write quality and well-written posts. That said, I wish to pass to them the Amazing Blogger badge handed to me by sweet Rachel of My Soulful Thoughts here. And if isn’t too much to ask, I’d hope too they can share a Blogging Tip that will be most helpful for Bloggers.

Who are they? Well, I assume majority of Bloggers (and even non-Bloggers) out there knew them. Who wouldn’t? They’re no other than Connie and Annamanila—two prolific writers and Blogging icons I truly admire!
