PLATED ON AN OPERATING TABLE
The theme for this month’s PMN FamPics is Plated or Anything on Plate and here’s my “different kind of plated entry”. LOL.

Above are photos of me plated on an operating table for an emergency Caesarian Section. While the original plan was to go for a normal delivery, circumstances did not permit it. Still on my 32nd week, my bag of water unexpectedly broke while I was at work, prompting me to be rushed to the nearest Hospital. In the Hospital, the doctor confirmed I’m already on labor so we waited for some more hours for my cervix to finally dilate to it’s fullest. After long hours of waiting however, my cervix stayed at 1-2 cm still, thus an emergency Caesarian Section was the best option as my baby’s life was already compromised.
And exactly at 7:28 PM of 01 April 2004, so came the most precious gift in my life––my Baby Nicolas.

CS ka pala.
hi! got here from rachel’s blog. when i saw your pictures on the operating table, i sort of imagined na ganyan pala ginawa sa akin when i had my c-section too. i was speechless when i saw your baby on top of your tummy. : )
Mitch, sa kasawiang palad, yun na nga, CS ang nangyari.
hi ann.
so you’re CS too? ang hirap kumilos for several days ‘no. the photos were taken by the Hospital nurses and soon as I saw them (esp. the one with the baby on top of the tummy), napaisip tuloy ako: nakakahinga kaya ang anak ko nun? but the doctors assured me it was only for a second and they immediately cleaned the baby afterwards.
hi feng! yup cs din ako, sa kasawiang palad din. but i had no problem moving around coz my OB told me to be mobile para mas mabilis daw recovery. i gave birth ng madaling araw, pagdating ng hapon pinaupo nako ng ob ko. at medyo nakapaglakad ako ng konti sa breastfeeding room. when i saw the picture of your baby na parang nakadapa, napaisip din ako. isip ganun ba talaga yun? akala ko hinuhugot agad ang baby sa loob ng tiyan eh.
good for you Ann. me, it took a while bago ako nakakilos ng maayos, at grabe nahimatay pa ako nung first day I attempted to move. re: baby nakadapa–hehe, pareho tayo ng inisip. kala ko gaya nung normal delivery, nakapatiwarik din agad ang baby para i-spank and to let the baby cry out. LOL.

LOL Title pa lang na-intriga na ‘ko. Akala ko tuloy, you were eating while undergoing CS. hehehehe
Tense!! CS ka pala. Sobrang aga naman ng 32 weeks. Nagmamadali si Nico lumabas sa world
Cookie, at tamang timing pa sa April Fools Day ang birth nya. tsk, dapat pala, April Boy ang ipinangalan ko! LOL.
Wow! A different take on the theme. 32 months, maaga nga.

Hi Feng. I like your unique but very meaningful interpretation of plated. It’s great that someone was able to take photos of this very important moment in your life.
I was ready with the camera and video cam. They were all inside the bag but when the day came, my nervous husband forgot it in the car. Sayang!
A unique entry for Plated.
Pareho pala tayong CS. Pareho rin tayong may photo-op during the delivery.
Feng, I had CS too, with Julian and Tania. Julian was transverse lie and so was Tania. Both times i know they were cutting me, I can feel the cut but not the pain. I heard both of them cry and I heard what the nurses remarked. But it was so painful afterwards or maybe I was just not tolerant to pain. For Trixie, I didn’t hear her nor see her when I gave birth, I was asleep. I mean, unconscious, nawalan ng malay!
The doc got her using forceps.
Thanks for sharing your very personal photos, Feng.

Aaah, this reminds me of my own CS experience. I can still remember the feeling. For some reason, not all the drugs they gave completely numbed me. (Shudder)
welcome to the club of CS moms!
Hirap pag CS. Hirap gumalaw and di ka makatawa. Hehehe.
Im looking forward to have a vaginal birth on my next pregnancy. Sana makaya!
arggh! I can feel the pain Feng.. takot ako!
Ang hirap ma CS noh?

How nice that your plated delivery was well-documented, hehe.
oops, sabi ko na nga ba e, hahaha.. you are so game to have your photos taken while plated
thanks KK/Tina.
yup, 32 weeks was indeed very early. that’s why there were complications after Nico’s birth, being a preemie.
Hi Rach. glad you liked the photos. they were taken by the Hospital nurses. originally, Hubby planned to take the photos, but seeing me in the operating table being “katay” and sewn almost made him faint so he just waited for us after the operation is through.
Jules must have been very nervous and excited at the same time during you’re birthing. ayan tuloy, nakalimutan mag take ng photos. di bale, bawi na lang sa next baby.
Hi Lynn, ang nakakatuwa pa nga sa photo opps na yan, parang may baong bukas na resto kasi yung pag cut ng umbilical cord, para daw ribbon cutting ng newly opened resto, says the doctors.
hirap ng CS no. sobrang windang ako.
you’re welcome T. Julie. two CS births? ang hirap siguro nyan ano? me too, I slept all throughout the operation din. if ever I’d have my second, sana naman makaya kong mag normal delivery. ultimate dream ko yun.
Pinayhekmi, I’m sure the memories are so so fresh in your mind. hope you’re stitches are healed na. and amazing ha, the meds are suppose to make you feel numb.
Bang, truly hirap ng CS. looking back, naisip ko kung pano ko kinaya yun. pareho tayo, ultimate dream ko to have a normal delivery, and syempre ma complete ko na sana yung full term.
amore, scary talaga. parang feeling ko nga, hindi na ko magigising after nung birthing. totoo nga talaga yung saying na when you give birth, half of your life eh nasa hukay. but God is good!
Nice, yeah, super early nga. too bad we didn’t complete the full term. malaki pa sana i-gain nyang weight bago lumabas. Nico only weighed 2 kilos at birth, nabawasan pa yan after his 10-day stay at the NICU.
Chats,
yung term na plated sound like “katay” talaga eh no.
raqgold, naku po, wala lang talaga akong malay nung time na kinunan nila ng photos yung operation. meron pa nga ibang photos during the operation that I’d rather not look at, napaka morbid eh.
