CATCHING UP ANOTHER ROUND OF VIRUSES

And so after suffering from a stomach infection last week, I caught several viruses again. Truth is, it was not only me who was victimized, but likewise, the large group of Mommies in the Pinoy Moms Network too.

But ooopps, before you get so alarmed. It’s not the virus that we often think can be combated through antibiotics or certain medicines. Nope. Rather, I’m referring to these latest sets of fun and enjoyable Memes propagating and mutating around the colorful world of Blogsphere, particularly, that of with Filipina Moms.

Hehe, I was inspired to call it a virus as the curious lil’o me, got to read about the many definitions of Memes online (thanks again Google, you cleared my mind). This reliable site enumerated a number of definitions of Memes, namely:

  • An idea that, like a gene, can replicate and evolve.
  • A unit of cultural information that represents a basic idea that can be transferred from one individual to another, and subjected to mutation, crossover and adaptation.
  • A cultural unit (an idea or value or pattern of behavior) that is passed from one generation to another by nongenetic means (as by imitation); “memes are the cultural counterpart of genes”.

But one definition that stuck in mind was this definition, which so holds true:

By some other definitions, Memes are viral and propagate around sometimes mutating as they propagate. Someone proposed something along the lines of some blog posts are viral, they write about something they see on one blog and the next person does the same sometimes their interpretation varies slightly changing the story.

Anyway, before I go out of the topic (again), let me counter these viruses, este Memes pala, by enumerating my answers in separate entries for the following Memes/Tags I will be posting later:

    I think this is the nth blog I have read that tells about catching the flu virus…I think there is really something wrong in the air in Metro Manila.

    Or maybe the stress in traffic? I hope you are always well and healthy next time.
