PRAYING FOR BABY T’s PROGRESS TO WELLNESS
I know I should have stopped thinking about the tragic chapter in our lives where we almost lost our son. That was already past anyway, and it’s but and all accepting that I have already moved on. I have moved on, and the Lord knows how thankful I am each and every day that He has continue to shower blessings and caring for my son. However, while checking in for some mails today, I’ve come to read over and over, some exchanges of emails with a mother whose three-month old son has an unresolved heart issue. And somehow, it made me recalled the trials we’ve been through some years ago.
The mother (if I may call her here as Mommy T of Baby T) and I arrived at exchanging words of comfort through emails when a friend of hers stumbled upon my entry sometime in March on how we triumphed over Nico’s catastrophic condition back then.
Baby was born with a quite complex congenital heart disease. Aside from Ventricular Septal Defect (which is caused by incomplete growth of the tissue wall that separates the lower chambers of the heart), Baby T’s aorta (that brings oxygenated blood to all parts of the body through a systematic circulation) is on the right side, which supposedly should be on the left. Baby T has no pulmonary artery too, though doctors see small pulmonary veins branching to the lungs, which keeps his circulatory system functioning despite some anomalies. Continue Reading »
