PLANNING A BABY’S GENDER USING THE CHINESE CALENDAR: ACCURATE OR NOT?

This is not a tag, nor a Meme. But it’s sort of a survey to test the accuracy of the Chinese Lunar Calendar in planning the gender of a baby.

You see, hubby and I had come to resolve our dilemma and are currently on the heels of planning another addition in the family. However, this time, we wished to have a baby girl since we already have a boy who will turn three years old next month. The Chinese Lunar Calendar, I heard, is a good tool to plan the preferred gender of the baby. I tested the calendar by tracing back my age and the month that I conceived my first born ( I was 27 years old on July 2003–the month I conceived my baby), and it turned out to be true, my baby was indeed a boy.

Now, if we are planning to have a baby girl this year up to next year, the calendar suggests that I (at 30 years old) conceive between February to October this year.

Using the Chinese calendar as a resource, does it hold true to your own conception? Below is how the Calendar works and I enjoin all the Mommies to participate by placing a comment in this post.

Thanks in advance.

You can choose for yourself whether you want a boy or a girl by following the chart below. The woman’s age from 18 to 45 (Chinese reckoning) is on the first tab while the first row indicate the month when the baby is conceived. By following the chart you will be able to tell in advance whether your baby will be a boy or a girl. Thus, you can plan to have a boy or a girl.

This chart has been taken from a Royal tomb near Peking, China. The original copy is kept in the Institute of Science of Peking. The accuracy of the chart has been proved by thousands of People and is believed to be 99 percent accurate. By reckoning, you follow a line drawn from the figure representing the woman’s age to a line drawn from the month the baby is conceived. For instance, if the woman is 27 years old and her baby is conceived in July (according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar), then her baby will be a boy. The chart is based on the month the baby is conceived and not on the birth of the baby, B-Male, G-Female. Remarks: A Chinese Scientist discovered and drew this chart which was buried in a Royal tomb about 700 years ago. ÿ

hello sexy mom. you know what? the time that i’m about to post this entry in Pinoy Moms Network, the first thing that came to my mind was you. i knew it, you woudn’t remember na kasi it was such a long time na.

and infanticipating for 7 kids, as you said 3 girls and 4 boys–is so indeed a valid valid excuse for not remembering. if a mom, say me, always take as an excuse my CS delivery for my being too forgetful, how much more in your case pa eh 7 kids yan. well, at least you remembered you were drank with your two boys!

    hi fengbrum,

can i share this chart with others?

i don’t remember either when my daughters were conceived. I just had to count on my fingers nice months back.

hello belle. of course naman. i just culled that chart lang naman from holodeck.com. i just discovered that there’s another version of the Lunar Calendar, medyo may discrepancies sa chart.

counting 9 months back is OK and would jibe with the chart. however, if someone gave birth prematurely, say 8 or 7 months back, that would make the lunar calendar inaccurate. :)
