COUNTING THE DAYS TILL NICO IS 3

032107-009.jpgSix more days to go and I think we’re all set for Nico’s low-keyed 3rd Birthday Celebration on 01 April, Sunday.  We’ve already signed a contract with the Party company (of course, on Nico’s insistent demand), finalized the venue, the time and theme for the Party.  Even the nitty gritty of writing down the final list of guests and shopping for Nico’s clothes for his Big Day were likewise accomplished.  Thus, the stage-Mommy-me is just waiting and counting on the days till the much-awaited D-Day.

Somewhat getting bored in waiting, I clicked on some useful resources in the Baby/Parent Center again on the Developmental Areas of 3-year olds and what to expect.  And these were what I got. My insights are below it. Continue Reading »

HE COMPLETES ME

(Originally posted in the MomExchange–A Blog For And By Moms, as my March entry.)

Foreword: Sorry for a very long post, can’t help but reminisce my pregnancy chronicles most especially now that my Little Nico is about to turn 3 on 01 April 2007, which will be a few days from now. Happy Birthday Son! Mommy loves you so much.

True is the saying “nothing could complete a woman’s life until she becomes a mother”. Together with all the Moms in this world, I too was a living testimonial.

Before He Came
All three years of our married life, Jun and I had on-and-off plans to have a child. For one, we were busy traversing our paths in the corporate world as we were both career-oriented then. Second, having a child right after marriage was not really a serious decision as we had wanted to be financially stable first, have our own house built before hand, and buy a new car if possible, before finally entering into a momentous responsibility. We thought at first that acquiring such assets would already suffice and complete us but then, we proved ourselves wrong. Continue Reading »

A RARE BONDING MOMENT WITH MOMMY

I could hardly move my legs the night of Saturday. They were aching as I pressed my hands through my legs’ muscles with a gel-based pain reliever. Ouch! This was what I got after spending the entire day relentlessly trotting the Mall with my Mom.  Actually, we didn’t planned going to the Mall that day.  It was just incidental that I need to pay some of our due utility bills (as Jun was out accompanying our pahinantes in the business) and Mom, (who made a brief visit in our home to hand the shorts and sandos she bought for her apo from a maglalako near my parents’ home in Morong), needs to buy something for herself, so off we went to the Mall for a purpose.  But then we knew that a Mall-wide sale in on going, so Mom and I didn’t mind at all scavenging and hunting for some good finds.  Knowing Mom as a bargain hunter and an addict for items on sale, I’d expected that we’ll be going home late as she would have the tendency to do boutique hopping from one to another.  And I was right, she did.

That now explains my somewhat sprained aching legs.  But I didn’t mind it so much as I knew Mom and I enjoyed the entire day together.  While slacked in front of the TV watching PBB late Saturday night (with my aching legs reclined above the arms of our sofa), I enjoyed reminiscing in between commercials the “date” that Mom and I had the whole day.  It was indeed a “rare” bonding moment with Mommy that I’d like to forever remember in my heart.  I’d say “rare” because it was only that day again, after so many years, that the two of us went out.  You see, most often than not, we go out as a family, either with my Dad, my brother, with my sister and her 4-year old daughter, or with Nico, and Jun or even with our Yaya.  And most of the time, our companions are such KJ (kill joy) when it comes to pag-gagala. We never had a chance to go for some Mommy-daughter day out since I got married and had my own family.  Only last Saturday. Continue Reading »

MEANING OF DREAMS

What could be the meaning of dreams?

Dreams, as defined by the Webster Dictionary as a sequence of sensations, images, thoughts, among others, passing through a sleeping person’s mind, were believed by experts to have its respective interpretations. In fact, many researches conducted by experts mostly in the medical and psychology professions came up with dream dictionaries and dream interpretation services to explain mysteries in such phenomena.

dreams

On our way to our respective workplaces this morning, Jun mentioned about his dreams last night. He said that he dreamed of my Dad asking him how our new business was doing and if ever, in what way Daddy even offered how he could be of help. That was the first scene in the dream when suddenly, Jun wandered why of all a sudden, Dad and him were in another setting again (this time in my parent’s home in Morong), and then Dad asked him to take off his shirt because it was his and not my brother’s as Jun originally thought. Then Jun woke up. It was already morning. Continue Reading »

SPENDING “EXCLUSIVE” WEEKENDS

I so love weekends. Not only that I have the option to wake up late in the morning, weekends are perhaps the best days in a week that working Moms like me always looks forward to, as these are the only days I got to spend quality time with my family, most especially with my son.

A great weekend for me doesn’t necessarily have to be that extravagant with us going to the Mall and splurging ourselves for gastronomic treats and shopping. What I feel that’s more important is that, even as we stay at home for a idle weekend, we are together as one family and making the most out of our precious time together bonding and tickling and laughing our hearts out. A SIGHT OF GOOD MORNINGS

True it is a very pleasant sight of good mornings waking up with the ones I love so dearly–the two most important men in my life.

This morning, I can’t help but take pictures of them once more (for the nth time) as they do their all-time harutan and kulitan stuffs while I dress up for work.

NICO’s JOLOGS BARBER CUT

Barely three weeks from now and my Little Baby is obviously baby-no-more as he will be turning 3. He’s indeed growing so fast and so many things have changed in him to include his control for some tantrums.

Just last Saturday, Nico joined his Dada for a haircut in a jologs Barber Shop near the Palengke. At first, I doubted if Nico would behave well in the Barber shop because you see, having a simple haircut has been an ordeal since the time Nico took his first haircut till now. But Nico’s Dada still insisted to give it a try as he reasoned it’s four times cheaper in a Barber shop. “Sayang ang pera kung sa pricey kid’s saloon pa natin papagupitan si Nico eh pareho lang naman yan,” Nico’s Dada said, stressing that we should be practical already when it comes to spending for regular routine services for our kid such as a haircut. PLANNING A BABY’S GENDER USING THE CHINESE CALENDAR: ACCURATE OR NOT?

(Originally posted in the PinoyMoms Network, thus , majority of the comments can be viewed here)

This is not a tag, nor a Meme. But it’s sort of a survey to test the accuracy of the Chinese Lunar Calendar in planning the gender of a baby.

You see, hubby and I had come to resolve our dilemma and are currently on the heels of planning another addition in the family. However, this time, we wished to have a baby girl since we already have a boy who will turn three years old next month. The Chinese Lunar Calendar, I heard, is a good tool to plan the preferred gender of the baby. I tested the calendar by tracing back my age and the month that I conceived my first born ( I was 27 years old on July 2003–the month I conceived my baby), and it turned out to be true, my baby was indeed a boy.

Now, if we are planning to have a baby girl this year up to next year, the calendar suggests that I (at 30 years old) conceive between February to October this year.

Using the Chinese calendar as a resource, does it hold true to your own conception? Below is how the Calendar works and I enjoin all the Mommies to participate by placing a comment in this post.

Thanks in advance. Continue Reading »
