MY NEW MOMMY BLOGGING INVOLVEMENT
I’ve been holding on to this for about four days, as I plan to share the link with my Friendster Friends as soon as I have posted my very first Blog entry in the site aside from the Member Profile that is required for the new registrants. But you see, I just can’t help it. The more that I am keeping it to myself, the more I am itching and excited to write an entry in this journal of mine about my latest blogging involvement.
Still being a newbie Mommy who has entered motherhood for just about three years, I started expressing my obvious overwhelming feelings, my own joys and pains as a Mom through this Blog by posting quite frequent, so regular, and detailed entries in The Mommy-Heart in Me category. And it amazes me to frequently receive comments and personal emails from a diverse group of people who, at certain points, inspires me to write and express more.
There are so many Mommying tales that I wish to share with co-mothers alike. May it be about a mother’s experience on cleaning her baby’s soiled nappy to the accidental feeding of chili peppers to a kid, swapping stories with individuals who are the same of specie as me positively reinforces my 24/7 job to continue to improve on my noble responsibility and learn from the imperfections of Mommy life. And this desire came into reality.
First, I courageously joined the Mommies’ exchanges of views and insights at the Pinoy Exchange’s Parenting 101 Forums. My participation in the Forum, specifically the Mommies Corner eventually paved the way for an opportunity to regularly post in the MomExchange: A Blog For and By Moms. Drafting my very first entry for the group blog was quite challenging as the topic was about Child Rearing. Good thing though that coincidentally, a child-rearing challenge with Nico actually happened in December so I was able to post a somewhat dramatic Mommy kwento.
Later, I’ve learned about a worthwhile project of Connie, the “Sassy Lawyer” who is blogging for years in this site to compile a directory of Pinoy Mommy Blogs. As expected, I was one of the many enthusiastic Moms who requested to be included in the directory. The directory, according to Connie’s original plan, will be moved in a main path as soon she gathered at least 50. So I patiently waited and even bookmarked the temporary site in the Bookmarks page of my browser.
Until the morning of Tuesday, 06 February 2007, while still on a lazy, sleepy mood, I received an invitation to join a conglomeration of Pinoy Mommy Bloggers all over the world named Pinoy Moms Network. I was too excited to grab the invitation and register as a member and post my member profile right away at that morning. My spirits were lifted as I read the About Us page of the site saying, (thank you Connie for this very flattering quote):
“… I realized that contrary to popular belief that our “leaders” are the ones who shape our country’s destiny, it is us (the Mothers) who determine what the future generations will be. The saying that “the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world” has never been more true.”

The next thing I knew, I was hooked. It’s not even a week since the site was up and already, Mommy conversations are heating up. While Connie and Noemi (her partner in this Mommy project) originally plan to moderate the entries and comments, the dynamic duo opted to disable the moderation of the comments as Mommy entries continue to come by the minute. As Connie said, “it’s giving her a huge adrenalin rush”. Woohoo, way to go Connie.
So to my Mommy friends who are interested to join, tara na! I’m definitely looking forward to having you there!
