Here’s the latest digiscrap I made. The pictures captured Nico’s sentimental behavior on a lazy Saturday after a long-afternoon nap.

While planning menus and preparing healthy food for the family has been a breeze for quite sometime now, another challenge came along my way as a Mom and Homemaker with Nico already going to preschool. Nico’s schooling may not be that regular for the moment as I expect the daily take ups in June. But sure there’s a lot of braving up to do in terms of budgeting, planning and providing Nico with only the healthy snacks. Like the fears of most stage Moms, I don’t want to face frustration knowing that at the end of the day, my kid’s school bag still had food half eaten or worst, sandwich left untouched. So before I get totally depressed, I browsed through a brief research on what would turn out to be “good snacks” for Nico. I meant “good”, as in these snacks should not only be interesting in terms of taste or appeal, but also “good” in terms of health value.
Here’s what I’ve researched so far (courtesy of Gardenia Bakeries Philippines Inc): Continue Reading »

As much as possible, I don’t want to talk about this matter in my online diary anymore. I have talked about it so many times (in so consecutive days I think) that its already eating up much space in this journal. And another thing is that, my concerned friends (who were already fed up with my pleas) will definitely kill me as soon as I break this latest news to them. But being true friends that they are, I just hope that they will eventually understand.
The truth is, yes, nasa amin na ulit si Soulmate Nanny, nung Tuesday afternoon pa, 23 January 2007. How did this came to be? It’s a long, winding, and shaky story. Pero yun na nga, nangyari na ang nangyari. Just when I thought she’s out of our lives after that last emotional conversation last last week, hindi pa pala. Ok na kami eh, kahit mahirap we’re persevering to move on with our lives even without her. Honestly, life hasn’t been so easy, especially for Nico who is yet to recover from the Soulmate Nanny’s lost. And thankfully naman, he’s progressing, especially when we started putting him in Preschool last week. Within ourselves, we realized that we are the ones responsible for taking care of our son, to a point that we somewhat lost appetite searching and looking for a new Yaya. Continue Reading »

Finally, Jun and I pursued our plan to introduce Nico in early education last Friday, 19 January 2007. As parents, Jun and I thought this is the best way for Nico to further enhance his learning since he has been hooked to ABCs and 123s so early, and for several months now. Getting him in school this early is also a way of transition for Nico who used to have a constant companion in a Yaya, now to socializing with kids of his age.
Settling Concerns and Issues on PreSchool
Jun was somehow adamant to the idea when I first told him about it last week. He’s worried that Nico’s daily routine will definitely get disturbed and an hour of travel plus the daily braves through the Pasig-Makati traffic and the constantly changing weather will be a heavy burden for a 2-year 9-month old. But as always, with the Mommy-Heart in me explaining and perhaps my convincing powers too, we managed to compromise and agreed that this new concept will surely benefit Nico. Jun himself even made an inspection of the place and talked to one of the administrators of the school to orient himself and justify my claims and see if it’s really worth having Nico there. And besides, Jun realized that there’s no harm in trying. We agreed that if this new routine would turn out difficult for Nico, we’d be all and ready to get back to his old routine. Anak ng kalikasan naman oh! Anong petsa na? Wala pa bang sweldo? Kakarampot na nga lang yung monthly take home pay ko eh, di pa mabigay sa tamang araw ng sweldo! It’s been two weeks delayed na po ano!
Eh kung ganyan ng ganyan eh, mas maigi pang mag-stay na lang ako sa bahay. Maalagaan ko pa Little Babe ko ng full time.
Promise nila Friday daw. Pag wala pa, nakuppp…

I’ve been into digital scrapping lately. Digital scrapping is a way level high into the Digital Photo Albums I regularly do to compile Nico’s photos. Not only that it looks better, it also captures and explains a photo moment. Many thanks to Aggie for all the help on how to start up a project and where to get free design kits.

So here’s my very first every digiscrap. Credits goes to the MintChocolate Designer Sample kit of Ms. Heather Roselli and The Digichick.

The lost of a loving Yaya for Nico paved the way for Jun and I to think of plan of actions that will definitely be beneficial for our Little Angel. I cannot seem to really explain, and it might sound that we are overreacting on the turn out of events the past two weeks, but the very thing on having another Yaya to baby sit for Nico is not that appealing anymore. Though, we are still considering and looking and searching for a replacement, we are not that enthusiastic in following up referral from families, relatives and friends. As they say in tagalog, “para yatang nadala na kami” on investing again with someone that we can entrust our son while we are both at work. Besides that, (in our respective baby sitting days with Nico during the first week of no Yaya) we also realized that Nico was really getting bored being just at home all day with only a baby sitter, the television and toys around to amuse him.
So, what are the plan of actions being considered? We enumerated on several options and anticipated some of the possible outcomes: Continue Reading »
