WEEKEND REFLECTION (11 to 17 DEC)

Christmas parties, gifts, and bonuses
Truly, the much-awaited time of the year is approaching soon. We’ve already had our company Christmas Party last Friday. It was a low-keyed celebration that we had as the Executive Committee of the company decided that instead of a lavish celebration, the money that was supposedly spent for the party will be donated to victims of Typhoon Reming in the Bicol region. Though the celebration was quite simple, employees afforded to enjoy the simple affair in the afternoon, bringing home with them a bagful of groceries and a nick of good news from the management. Yes, the management and the Employees Union signed the Collective Negotiation Agreement, providing employees with a fringe of monetary and health benefits. Now, that enhances the spirit of Christmas!
Christmas gifts from close friends in the company where I work also started to come in my working station with prayer cards from a former officemate as a starter. Thanks Mareng Jo, it’s so thoughtful of you to remember.
Some postponed appointments and planned celebrations
Looks like our Little Buddy’s checkup to a Development Pediatrician will push through perhaps early in January of next year. For the second time, our scheduled checkup of Nico with his DevPedia was postponed. Nico’s doctor had to attend to an emergency call at a tertiary hospital in Manila so we had no other choice but to reset another appointment. Well, it is not so much of an urgent matter, so it’s fine with us. It can wait.
Looks like Christmas is getting us in the family to be busier. Jun and I decided to postpone for the meantime our wedding anniversary celebration (next year na lang?). The original plan was to for us family to celebrate this momentous day in the place where we actually got married—in Loreland Farms of Antipolo City which was I think, the best way to reminisce that one special day. However, with all the Christmas parties and fellowships (PP Vic Duran’s Birthday cum RCUDM’s [2nd unofficial] Christmas Party and Presidents 101 Christmas Party) that requires our attendance, we decided to postpone our anniv celebration for the meantime.
Thank God for this truly blessed week.
