IMAGES OF CHRISTMAS 2006

Howdie!

While I originally intend to combine my Christmas and New Year experience into one post, I changed my mind. For one, I feel too lazy writing these past few days as I just want to savor the spirit of the Yuletide Season (while it is still around). I am afraid this laziness will soon lead me to some sort of mental-blogging block so I am taking the opportunity now to drop in a few lines and just let the slideshow of pictures speak for itself na lang, before this mental block scare gets through my entire mind. Secondly, I thought it would be more appropriate to have separate posts for the two important occasions. Thus, my New Year entry will be about a reflection/review of the year that was and perhaps a mention on my/our family plans next year. Lastly, friends and families have already been making kulit about how my Christmas went.

So, eto na po yun, OUR IMAGES OF CHRISTMAS 2006. Continue Reading »

HOW NICO LEARNED HIS ABC AND 123 PART 2

Merry Christmas! Like me and my family, may all of you my dear friends had a meaningful celebration of our Savior’s Birthday…

Hmmm, the much-awaited time of the year already passed us by just like that! But the last few days were still quite hectic for most of us as we haven’t stopped lingering the celebration of the Yuletide Season. It is for this reason that my writing re: my family’s very own tale on how we spent Christmas and New Year 2006 will be posted probably by 2nd of January 2007 (the earliest, I hope).

In the meantime that I am progressing on that entry, here’s another Video Montage of Nico’s Milestones (How Nico Learned His ABC and 123 - Part II), which I almost forgot to post, stored in my draft lists for almost a month na rin pala. The video shows how Nico mastered the names of the letters when we point on them, how he’s now able to find letters in words by name and, how Nico is now able to associate some of the letters with sounds they make in words.

Happy viewing! Continue Reading »

ON REARING NICO: CONFESSIONS OF A SOMEWHAT GUILTY MOM

(originally posted in MomExchange–A Blog for and By Moms)

I cannot think of anything logical today. It’s only 1PM, but it seems the day is almost over for me. I am so tired and drained. I just came from an unexpected test of patience with my Little Angel Nico back at home. Now I am here, all alone in my working station, facing the monitor of my PC, typing in some concerns and sentiments that I wish to confess.

Actually, I have many things to do. I should have been in the office at 8AM, but with what happened at home, I was forced to go on a half day today just to settle important things with my son. Papers for review are piling up at my desk, vouchers to still be countersigned before it gets to my immediate boss, memos to be read and acted upon, accomplishment reports to finish and submit before the set deadline, and the gift cheques for the media that still needs to be listed down and labeled before they are distributed. I hope I would accomplish some of these tasks today, or better, be able to finish everything before the day ends. But with hard feelings I am keeping inside, my mind just won’t work properly. It’s like I am on air, floating, and my heart to burst in bits of pieces if I am not able to express these heartaches. At least, this word processor and keyboard cooperates well so that I may be able to communicate my thoughts. Continue Reading »

WEEKEND REFLECTION (11 to 17 DEC)

Christmas parties, gifts, and bonuses
Truly, the much-awaited time of the year is approaching soon. We’ve already had our company Christmas Party last Friday. It was a low-keyed celebration that we had as the Executive Committee of the company decided that instead of a lavish celebration, the money that was supposedly spent for the party will be donated to victims of Typhoon Reming in the Bicol region. Though the celebration was quite simple, employees afforded to enjoy the simple affair in the afternoon, bringing home with them a bagful of groceries and a nick of good news from the management. Yes, the management and the Employees Union signed the Collective Negotiation Agreement, providing employees with a fringe of monetary and health benefits. Now, that enhances the spirit of Christmas! ON THIS SPECIAL DAY…

Six years ago, at exactly 10 in the morning, on this very same day,
We vowed before the presence of God and our families and friends,
To love and cherish one another,
For richer or for poorer,
In sickness and in health…
121700.jpg

In the past six years, I knew…
We have different personalities,
but we managed to get along so well.

We have different set of friends,
but we managed to relate with all of them.
We have different family traditions,

but we managed to know and embrace them.
We have different religions,
but we managed to compromise
knowing we believe in One God.

Our relationship was not that perfect,
Together with happiness, joys, and bliss,
We had our share of tests, trials, and challenges.
But what’s more important is that,
We managed to hurdle all of them,
Simply because we are together.

And the best of it all,
We have been blessed to actually become a FAMILY.
With a Little Angel that mimics just like you and me.

Still, ahead of us is a long journey of life,
As there are paths yet to be passed through,
And many life’s mysteries yet to be discovered,
The voyage would be both tough and challenging,
But confidently knowing you are always with me,
Will make this one journey worth and worth trailing.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.

GUSTO KO NANG UMUWI

I always look forward to going home after a hard day’s work. No matter how busy I am at work, the more I think about him. The reason being this:

A Little Angel too much missed by a longing Mommy to be kissed, to be hugged, to be tickled, to bond with. Ah, the joys of being a Mom!

WEEKEND REFLECTION (04 TO 10 DEC)

Christmas is really here!
Hubby took the whole week attending the Christmas parties of his clients. And Nico was so curious to see every morning his Dada cleans and arranges his clutter as these things started piling up our ref and the living room: take home stuffs from the parties such as cooked ham, several wines, fruit cakes, and corporate giveaways.121006_010_1Our very own Christmas Tree is slowly metamorphosizing into being more rosy with me putting in a number of glittering chiffon red ribbons around it. Hubby meanwhile bought additional transparent yellow rice lights and formed it into a star that was placed above our Tree. And those lights made our Tree more glowing in glee! Continue Reading »

PRE-SCHOOLER NICO: SERIOUSLY, A WORK IN PROGRESS

Nico has been so so so addicted to the Alphabet and numbers lately. Yes, as parents, we are so very proud and happy that he’s been inclined to it at an early age. Our budding pre-schooler have already mastered the names of the letters when we point on them. He’s now also able to find letters in words by name. Most importantly, Nico is now able to associate some of the letters with sounds they make in words!

But on the other thought, Jun and I are also starting to get worried. We are bothered that he’s not getting the just-alright/balanced play that a 2-year old (turning 3 on 01 April 2007) should normally have. The reasons being: Continue Reading »
